Cerelle is a contraceptive pill that is sometimes known as a mini pill. When taking it properly, it will stop you from becoming pregnant. Unlike the combined pill, Cerelle only contains one hormone, progesterone.
Cerelle pillProgesterone is a hormone that a woman’s body naturally produces as part of her menstrual cycle. Cerelle contains desogestrel, a synthetic form of progesterone. Cerelle must be taken every day to ensure that you are protected against pregnancy.
Fertilization is prevented as the Cerelle pill thickens the mucus at the cervix (neck of the womb). This stops sperm from being able to enter the uterus (womb). The desogestrel in Cerelle also prevents an egg from ripening and being released from the ovary. When combined with the thickened cervical mucus, this offers a very effective form of contraception.
Progesterone-only contraception, such as Cerelle, maybe a more appropriate form of contraception for women who are breastfeeding.
How is the Cerelle pill Taken? When you first start taking the Cerelle pill, the first pill should be taken on day one of your period. You will have contraceptive coverage immediately if you start in this way.
Unlike combined oral contraceptive pills, you do not need to remember to take a break from taking Cerelle. Cerelle must be taken every day at around the same time.
There is no break between packs, start a new strip of pills the day after the old strip runs out.
If you forget to take a pill, or you take it late, you should seek medical advice to check if you still have contraceptive coverage. Missing a pill, or only remembering about it later in the day can reduce the effectiveness of Cerelle. If you were to have unprotected sex, you could be at risk of becoming pregnant.
Each pill should be swallowed whole with some water.
Dosage of CerelleEach Cerelle pill contains 75 micrograms of desogestrel. One tablet is taken every day simultaneously, with a little water.
Each strip of tablets is labeled with the days of the week. Start with a pill on the top line labeled with the corresponding day, then follow the arrows around until you have finished the strip of pills. At this point, you should start a new strip of pills the following day, so that no breaks in taking the pill occur.
Veenat 100 (Imatinib) is indicated for different types of cancers, in particular Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) myelogenous leukaemia. It acts by affecting the growth of cancerous cells.
Imatinib spcVeenat 100 (Imatinib spc) is indicated for different types of cancers, in particular Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) myelogenous leukemia. It acts by affecting the growth of cancerous cells. Other applications include gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST, a rare type of cancer that affects the stomach and digestive system) and a skin cancer called DFSP (dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans) when it cannot be removed surgically.
Treatment of patients with Ph+ CML by means of this medicine can help to manage the symptoms and improve the MMR (major molecular response), meaning that the levels of BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase protein (the abnormal protein present in patients with Ph+ CML) is reduced. This drug is known as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and it helps to block the development of cancer cells. It specifically attacks the cancer cells (which have the tyrosine kinase protein) but not the non-cancerous healthy ones. This is often referred to as targeted therapy.
GISTs are believed to arise from cells in the gastrointestinal tract called ICCs (interstitial cells of Cajal). These cells play an important role in motility. An abnormal mutated protein called KIT is responsible for the tumors in most cases. By preventing the phosphorylation of the KIT protein, Imatinib spc can help to treat GIST. Other indications include HES or CEL in certain circumstances, some myeloproliferative or myelodysplastic disorders with PDGFR gene rearrangements, and other types of cancers not listed here.
Dosage and Administration
Veenat 100 (Imatinib spc) is provided in capsule form. Each one contains 100mg of the active ingredient. Your doctor will provide you with specific instructions that are unique to you, based on the severity of symptoms, disease progression, and the condition being treated (such as GIST, CML, or dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans). Tests on platelet levels will most likely be ordered by your doctor, and the results of these tests will be used to determine the required dosage adjustments. Adults are usually directed to take it once or twice per day, together with food and water
